I have also made the nut roll. Yes, you will have to learn someday--it's really not hard to do at all--and you can always take a nap while it's rising!! I must admit I am disappointed that we're not getting any of your awesome trifle--that really is a treat. I ordered a large tray of cookies (9 dozen) from the JVS Culinary School this year. It only cost $25. I wasn't sure if I was having surgery on my hand, so we decided to do that just in case. Dad wanted to open the tray last night, but I convinced him to wait until Christmas Eve.
